The Library and Information Science Student Association (LISSA) at the School of Information Studies (iSchool) is seeking presenters for the fifth annual Day of FiTS, a one-day conference all about “Filling in the Spaces.”
The event allows the iSchool community to come together for a day of exhibitions, presentations, and panels. The out-of-classroom learning experience offers students a chance to explore ideas and topics that are outside of the traditional library science curriculum, and that are be helpful to students as they prepare for their careers after graduate school.
This year’s conference will take place on Saturday, March 23rd, from 10:00 AM – 2:00 PM in Hinds Hall. Breakfast and lunch will be provided for attendees.
Organizers are currently soliciting speakers to share their research, interests, hobbies, or passions in a session during the conference. Graduate students, faculty, professionals, (library or otherwise), and community members are invited to participate
“This student-centered conference is a great opportunity to prepare for a more formal presentation, or to simply share something you’re passionate about,” said LISSA representative and graduate student Allison Keough. “Past presentation topics have included: DIY Nature Programming at the Library, Basic Bookbinding: The Art of the Japanese Stab Book, and How to Dress for Syracuse Weater (So You Won’t Be Cold, Wet, or Miserable), and many more. “
The Call for Proposals online form will remain open until February 28.
