Fast Track Master’s Degrees
For Syracuse University undergraduate students, we offer most of our master’s programs in an accelerated format called Fast Track.
How Fast Track Works
With Fast Track, Syracuse University undergraduate students can begin pursuing an iSchool master’s program while still completing their program.
To start on Fast Track, speak to a member of our Graduate Admissions team to choose the program that’s best for you. Then, apply to the graduate program of your choice using the online graduate program application. Once you are accepted into your program, you can plan your classes with your academic advisor.
It is recommended that Fast Track applicants have a GPA of 3.3. or higher.
There are two phases of Fast Track:
- Undergraduate: You may take up to 9 graduate credits while still in your undergraduate program to jump-start your graduate studies.
- Graduate: Once you complete your undergraduate program, you can apply for graduate awards and scholarships. If you pursue your graduate students full-time, you can complete a master’s program one semester early. The iSchool also offers options to complete your degree part-time or online.
Benefits of Fast Track
Save Time
By starting your master’s degree while still in your undergraduate studies, you can have as many as 9 graduate credits by the time your undergraduate degree is conferred.
Save Money
For Syracuse University students, the graduate credits you take during your undergraduate studies are taken at no additional cost to you. There are even further financial benefits for iSchool majors.
iSchool Undergraduate Students
Since current iSchool majors have a background in the information field, select introductory graduate courses for the Master’s in Information Management are waived for iSchool majors. All other programs should be discussed with a graduate recruiter.
