The iSchool has been ranked No. 17 for best online degree programs for graduate computer information technology by U.S. News and World Report for 2017.

Jessica Santana and Evin Robinson created New York On Tech, a nonprofit organization that provides pathways for underrepresented New York City high school students into the field of technology.

The Class of 2017 announced the selection of alumnus and entrepreneur Wiley Cerilli as the speaker for the School’s convocation ceremonies in May.

Associate Professor of Practice and Director of the Library Science program Jill Hurst-Wahl has been named to the Board of Trustees for the Onondaga County Public Library.

The course, held jointly with the Cybersecurity Law & Policy course taught at the College of Law, allowed students to participate remotely via live connection to the forum from a Hinds Hall classroom.

A signature immersion program at the iSchool, EntreTech NYC is designed to give students a firsthand look at the companies, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists, and way of life in Manhattan.

Caroline Haythornthwaite will begin her tenure as program director at the start of the next academic year in July 2017. She will take over from Associate Professor of Practice Jill Hurst-Wahl.

“This one of the areas that over next 5 years that will have a remarkable impact on our lives and also provide a tremendous amount of business opportunities,” says adjunct professor Chris Sedore.

Their paper, “Social Networks and the Success of Market Intermediaries: Evidence from the U.S. Residential Real Estate Industry,” was published in the journal The Information Society in Sept. 2015.

DeSantis is a library media specialist at Peoples Academy in Morrisville, Vermont, serving grades 5-12.
