Explore the life of information and technology professionals in five unique locations: the Pacific Northwest, Ireland, New York City, Silicon Valley, and Chicago.
Immersion experiences are open to undergraduate and graduate Syracuse University students from all majors and programs. Applications open in the fall and spring.
Peak 2 Peak: The Pacific Northwest
Peak2Peak is a week-long travel program that takes place in Seattle, Washington and Portland, Oregon.
Experience startup and tech culture in the scenic Pacific Northwest. Connect with West Coast alumni, entrepreneurs, and professionals. Who knows – they might become your future colleagues. There will be time to network and chat at each company, visits to hotspots in both Portland and Oregon, and plenty of sightseeing and time to reflect on what you learn.
Potential visits include: Starbucks, Nike, Intel, Amazon, Microsoft, Boeing, Smarsh, and more.
Innovate Ireland
Fly across the Atlantic to explore technology career in Dublin, Ireland. According to Tech Life Ireland, there are currently 80,000 people working in tech nationwide and a further 8,000 IT jobs in Ireland are forecast to open each year. Students on Innovate Ireland spend Thanksgiving break visiting these growing companies in and around Dublin. Between, you will travel around the country to some of the most beautiful and fascinating tourist spots in Ireland, like the Cliffs of Moher.

EntreTech NYC
EntreTech NYC is the exclusive week-long intensive opportunity for students to get their feet inside the top startups and technology companies in New York City, and to dive deep into culture of the city. It is also a full-circle opportunity for current students to meet distinguished alumni who live and work in the city. This program is open to students from all majors, all schools and colleges, and all degree programs.
Potential visits include: Google NYC, FourSquare, Gilt Groupe, Kickstarter, CrowdTwist, Night Agency, Brand Yourself, HuffPost Live, Arkadium, and more.
Spring Break in Silicon Valley
Spring Break in Silicon Valley (SBinSV) is the immersion experience that started it all. For 10 years, SBinSV has brought students to Silicon Valley and San Francisco over spring break in March to explore the birthplace of high-tech companies. Network with Syracuse University and SBinSV alumni who are now working and living in San Francisco. Discuss the the tough questions about startup culture with your classmates while hiking along the Golden Gate Bridge or eating In-N-Out.
Potential visits include Google, Uber, Twitter, Facebook, Stanford University, and more.
TechTrek Chicago
Chicago is unlike any city you’ve explored before! The city’s culture is strongly focused in community building and social responsibility in comparison with the hustle of Silicon Valley and the bustle of New York City.
It is home to promising startups like GrubHub, Peapod, Cars.com, Groupon, Uptake, MATTER, and Basecamp, as well as more established firms like Walgreens and Boeing. Chicago (and its surrounding cities) also host offices for Salesforce, Google, Yelp, Uber, Linkedin, CareerBuilder, Orbitz, Redbox, Motorola, and many more.
