The School of Information Studies (iSchool) has arranged workshops in August for students who are interested in obtaining their Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) credentials.
The CAPM Certification, offered by the Project Management Institute (PMI), is for students and members of project teams who do not have the required experience to qualify for the PMI’s Project Management Professional (PMP) certification, but who want to show that they do have the necessary standard knowledge about the project management discipline.
The exam preparation workshop has been specially designed for students and alumni who have completed a semester project management course. Study sessions help students understand how to interpret exam questions, give tips on how to prepare, what to bring to the exam, how best to study, and how to frame thinking in order to identify the best answer.
“Many students have realized that such a study approach can prepare them better than trying to do all of this studying on their own,” said Art Thomas, Professor of Practice at the iSchool.
Classes will be in Hinds Hall, Room 120 from 6:00-8:00 pm. Sessions are Tuesdays/Thursdays Aug 2 – 21 and Wed., Aug. 23, 2012.
By special arrangement with the PMI chapter in Syracuse, the iSchool is able to offer this workshop for only a $60 fee. Participants must be a member of the PMI as well as the PMI Syracuse chapter.
