School of Information Studies Associate Professor Yang Wang, and his student, Natã Barbosa have filed a U.S. provisional patent application based on their research in inclusive authentication.

Dr. Wang met recently with an authentication team at Motorola about the project and will have a follow-up meeting to discuss potential collaboration, he said.

The research project, titled “Disability Rehabilitation Research Project on Inclusive Cloud and Web Computing,” is funded by the U.S. Department of Education.

The research also includes School of Information Studies Assistant Professor Yun Huang and researchers at the University of Maryland, Baltimore County.

The group is working on developing ways to make it easier for people with disabilities to log on to websites and to make user interfaces more accessible, as well as to streamline web experiences for those with disabilities, and increase their overall accessibility.
