Two iSchool undergraduate students, John Miccio and John Williams, have been elected as officers in Syracuse University’s Student Veteran Organization (SVO).
The SVO’s mission is to provide veterans, military connected students, and military family members who attend Syracuse University or SUNY ESF with the esources, support, and advocacy needed to succeed not only in higher education but after graduation as well.
Miccio, from Syosset, NY has been elected president, and Williams, from Baldwinsville, NY has been elected vice president. Both are U.S. Army veterans. Their terms will begin on May 2.
“It is a great honor to be elected as the new president for the SVO,” says Miccio. “I look forward to helping yesterday’s warriors transition into tomorrow’s leaders through the guidance and support of the SVO.”
Outgoing SVO President Jordan Robinson adds, “I am so grateful for the opportunity to have led such a prestigious organization and I am confident my successor, John Miccio, will continue to help the SVO grow and succeed.”
