Art Thomas, associate professor of practice at the School of Information Studies (iSchool) will be the featured speaker at the April chapter meeting of the Syracuse chapter of the Project Management Institute.

His presentation will highlight some of the recent developments in the project management discipline that that deal with complex projects and how to best manage them. 

Specific topics areas discussed will include:

  • Human resource issues in complex project management situations
  • Risk assessment, risk management and risk reporting for complex projects
  • Political forces and their impact on projects
  • The role of the project management office (PMO) and other governance approaches

The meeting is scheduled for Wednesday, April 22 at 6:00 PM at the Syracuse Sheraton, and includes dinner. Sign-in begins at 5:30 PM.  The event is open to all – members, non-members and students. The fee is $25 for members, $30 for non-members and $15 for students.
