Technology Services Help
If you need assistance with one of your devices or with iSchool equipment, the Technology Services department is here to help. The information on this page will help you with any issues you may encounter.
Submit a Help Desk Ticket
The best way to get help from the iSchool’s Technology Services is to submit a help desk ticket. To submit a ticket, send an email to ischoolit@ot.syr.edu.
Browse iSchool Answers
Technology Services created self-help resources to address frequently asked questions and added them to Answers.syr.edu, Syracuse University’s ITS wiki. We encourage you to browse the iSchool’s Answers before submitting a ticket.
Computing Recommendations
iSchool students must have a laptop with Windows 10 or MacOS. Chromebooks or tablets are not adequate for the technical demands of your coursework.
Many of your classes will require you to use Microsoft Windows applications. Mac users can work with these applications in our Hinds Hall computer labs, or via virtualization. A Windows laptop is recommended.
Hardware Minimum Specifications
- 8GB RAM (16GB if attempting virtualization)
- HDMI adapter
- 25GB of storage reserved for iSchool courses
Students may choose to purchase their computer through the University Bookstore or a retailer of their choosing.
