Recently, Facebook released an update to its algorithm. It aims to resurface older stories that  users might miss the first time if they didn’t scroll down far enough in their feeds.

For brands, this means that previously unread stories will get a second shot at life among users who missed them the first time around – that is, if those stories are attaining a substantial degree of engagement and/or virality within Facebook. Check out more on Digital Agency 360i’s blog.

Twitter is trying to enhance its security features by upgrading to a two-factor authentication system. USA Today explains that when a user logs in from, say, a laptop computer, a notification is sent to the user’s smartphone. Within the Twitter app, users can then review the request and either accept or deny. Apparently, this process has not been working exactly as planned as Twitter’s new security feature even locked one reporter out of his account completely.

As the summer is winding down, you can look to Instagram to relive your favorite concerts and music festivals. But not only is Instagram helpful after the fact, Mashable also looks at how Instagram Is Enhancing Summer’s Biggest Music Festivals. Many major festivals — including Chicago’s Lollapalooza and Bonnaroo in Manchester, Tenn. — have displayed festivalgoers’ images on jumbotrons and onstage monitors during the events. Plus, during #CMAFest, more than 50,000 photos were tagged and shared on jumbotrons.

Do you like this concept, or would you rather not see pictures when you’re trying to watch the show?
