I just spoke with Group 2 (“Knows Goes”), comprised of students in the iSchool, VPA, Newhouse, and Education. This group’s big idea is to develop classrooms that are more compatible with today’s digital media.
The group members said that this weekend’s opportunity to collaborate with students from different schools has allowed them to take a step back and look at an issue from multiple angles. Dave Chenell, a student in the iSchool, said that it’s been nice working with students from different academic backgrounds, as they challenge some of his technical suggestions.
Breakfast pizza, bean bags, and the games available at COLAB were all cited as favorite parts of the weekend. When asked about the biggest challenge, one group member said “staying awake,” while another mentioned the lack of time — tackling a huge issue and preparing a presentation in only two days.
