Ruth Small, Laura J. & Douglas L. Meredith Professor at the School of Information Studies (iSchool) will moderate a panel discussion on the place of the library in the 21st century. Co-sponsored by the iSchool and the Arizona Library Association, the discussion will take place on Wednesday, February 4 in Phoenix.

Panelists include two members of the iSchool community – Senior Associate Dean and immediate past-president of the American Library Association (ALA) Barbara Stripling, and former adjunct professor and current ALA president-elect Sari Feldman.

“This panel discussion will offer views of how 21st century librarians are creating innovative programs using cutting edge technologies,” said Small. “Librarians are building communities by sparking and guiding lifelong learning, and offering opportunities for creativity, production and entrepreneurship to everyone from young children to seniors.”

In addition to Stripling and Feldman, the other panelist is Karen Williams, Dean of University Libraries at the University of Arizona.

The event will be held at Phoenix’s Musical Instrument Museum. More information and a form to RSVP are available online.
