School of Information Studies (iSchool) senior Bobby Wardwell has been named a Scholar-Athlete of the Week by the Syracuse University Athletics Department.

Wardwell is a goalie on the Syracuse Orange men’s lacrosse team. He has started every game in net this season for the team, who had their final home game against Hobart on Tuesday evening. The Orange won that game 18-5, and are 9-2 overall, with one game remaining this semester.

During his last year of play with the team, Wardwell has had six games with 10-or-more save, including a season-best 12-save effort in a 17-12 win over Albany on April 2. Wardwell has a .524 save percentage this season.

In the 2013 season game against Army, Wardwell set a Syracuse University record for the fewest goals allowed (2) by a goalie that played the entire game. He made 11 saves against the Black Knights to establish a new Carrier Dome save percentage record.

Wardwell was named to both the ACC Academic Honor Roll and the Syracuse University Athletic Director’s Honor Roll during his time on the team.
