Students and professionals looking to expand their knowledge of IT project managment fundamentals this summer may want to consider the School of Information Studies (iSchool) course, Managing Information Systems Projects – IST 645. The school will be offering the 3-credit week-long class in July.

Traditionally taught over an entire semester, this compressed class will deliver the same material and credit hours in just one week, with classes held every weekday during the week of July 21 from 9:00 AM – 5:00 PM.

This graduate level course introduces the project management body of knowledge, and provides an overview of best practices in IT project management. In addition, the course also satisfies the formal education requirement for Project Management Institute (PMI) certification.

The course is taught by adjunct professor John Stinnett, a program manager at JPMorgan Chase who holds an MBA, as well as the PMI Certifications of PMP and PMI-ACP. It is available as an on-campus course only.

For more information, view the course description, or contact John Stinnett at jpstinne@syr.edu.
