Alpha Phi Omega will be hosting a memorial ceremony for Marinna Khon Sunday, Oct. 17, at 11 a.m. It will take place in the Orange Grove, where a stone was lain for her remembrance. A 2010 Alumna of the iSchool, she was an active member of Alpha Phi Omega and the campus community.
She graduated May 25, 2010, with a B.S. in Information Management and Technology and a minor in Global Enterprise Technology. She died May 25, 2010, in a tragic drowning near her home in Lynn, Massachusetts.
Faculty members who taught Marinna describe her as the “dream student” who was very driven and extremely motivated to succeed. She enrolled in some of the most technically challenging courses at the iSchool and excelled. She made the dean’s list several times since transferring into the iSchool the spring semester of her sophomore year. She was an active member in the Alpha Phi Omega service organization, and was a positive force to those who knew her.
