School of Information Studies (iSchool) Professor of Entrepreneurship Bruce Kingma has been named to the Board of Directors of the United States Association for Small Business and Entrepreneurship (USASBE).

Kingma provided leadership to entrepreneurship education efforts at Syracuse University as provost for entrepreneurship and innovation from 2007-2013.  He was the principal investigator for a grant from the Kauffman Foundation that transformed entrepreneurship education by focusing on helping students, veterans, faculty, and community members start ventures. During his tenure, Kingma raised over $30 million in additional funding, and increased the national ranking of Syracuse University entrepreneurship programs to top-10 status.

“I am honored to be chosen to be on the Board of Directors for USASBE for 2016-2017,” said Kingma. “I will be serving with some of the best entrepreneurship faculty from around the country to provide national direction in entrepreneurship education and leadership.”

USASBE is the is the largest independent, professional, academic organization in the world dedicated to advancing the discipline of entrepreneurship.
