A new program begins this week at the School of Information Studies (iSchool), organized by the School’s alumni office to bring alumni back to campus to share their career experiences with current students.

Called the HINDSights Alumni Visitor Series, the program matches visiting alumni with students for classroom visits, speaking engagements, and small meetings with student groups and organizations.

“We have many student organizations that want to connect with our alumni, and bring them back to campus to share their stories,” said Julie Walas Huynh, Director of Alumni and Student Engagement at the iSchool. “So by putting together a formal program around their visits, we can make sure a greater number of students have an opportunity to meet with an iSchool alum and learn from their experiences.”

In addition to class visits and presentations, visiting alumni will be treated to campus tours, meals with faculty members, and spend time getting caught up on what has happened at the University since they’ve left.

Jordan Goldberg ’02 is the first HINDSights participant, and will visit campus from October 4 – 6. Goldberg is Senior Account Manager for digital video distribution at Disney and ESPN Media Networks. In his role there, he negotiates content licensing agreements with various cable and digital distribution partners on behalf of Disney’s suite of television networks and related digital properties

Goldberg will give a reflection talk on his career in an open event on Wednesday, October 5 at 5:30 PM in 347 Hinds Hall (Katzer Room). The talk is open to all students.
