The School of Information Studies (iSchool) will be hosting an Exam Study Workshop for the Project Management Institute’s (PMI) Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) certification exam beginning later this month.

The weekly evening sessions will begin on Thursday, February 12, and will run through April 2, with the exception of Spring Break week. The session time is from 6:00 – 8:00 PM in 121 Hinds Hall.

“This workshop was specifically designed for university students who have taken, or are presently taking, a semester Project Management course, such as IST445/IST645, or SCM456/SCM656,” said Art Thomas, Associate Professor of Practice at the iSchool. “The workshop is taught by PMI certified Project Management Professionals from the local Syracuse Chapter of PMI, and is synchronized with the latest exam version by PMI.”

A fee of $125.00 includes participants’ exam study guide and the workshop sessions. While the iSchool is hosting the workshop on campus, this is not an official university course, and enrollment is done directly through PMI-Syracuse at their local chapter website: http://www.pmi-syracuse.org/

The workshop syllabus [PDF] provides all appropriate information concerning related fees and payment options as well as course content and logistics. The workshop fee is required at the first class session as per the instructions in the syllabus and may be made by credit card, cash or checks made payable to PMI-Syracuse Chapter. Students must also join PMI and register for the CAPM Exam through separate procedures.
