Alexis Ohanian, author, entrepreneur, and co-founder of Reddit will speak at an event sponsored by the Syracuse University School of Information Studies (iSchool) on Tuesday, February 4. He will be joined on stage by iSchool alumnus and entrepreneur Wiley Cerilli.

In the event, The Making of Internet Entrepreneurs: A conversation with Alexis Ohanian and Wiley Cerilli, Ohanian will discuss his book, Without Their Permission: How the 21st Century Will Be Made, Not Managed, and talk with Cerilli about the culture of entrepreneurship, business building, and how to get a start-up off the ground.

For Ohanian, the Syracuse talk is part of a 5-month, 165-stop tour promoting his book on Internet entrepreneurship. Ohanian last spoke at Syracuse as a headliner for the iSchool’s #140Cuse conference in 2012.

At each college and university stop along the tour, Ohanian brings an alumnus on stage. At Syracuse, Cerilli will join him for the evening.  In 2010, Cerilli founded SinglePlatform, a service that allows small business owners to easily manage and control their digital presence. In June of 2012, SinglePlatform was acquired by ConstantContact for $100 million.

The talk will begin at 6:00 PM on Tuesday, February 4 in the Regency Ballroom of the Syracuse University Sheraton. A reception will immediately follow. Parking is complimentary in the Sheraton garage. Seating will be limited, and attendees should RSVP with EventBrite at this link: alexisohanian-syracuse.eventbrite.com. Note that an RSVP does not guarantee a seat, and attendees should arrive early.
