Amanda Marderosian ’18 and Sara Adam ’18 take viewers around their day at Syracuse University.

Meet Amanda and Sara!

The video starts with them outside of the Schine Student Center, Newhouse, and Hall of Languages.

They met in IST 195, which is a class required for all iSchool majors to take. Jeff Rubin, President and CEO of SIDEARM Sports and Professor at the iSchool, teaches this introductory course.

In IST 195, students learn about information technology, software, business, and more. You can read more about what you learn in IST 195 in this post.

Yoga Class, then Senior Capstone

First, Sara and Amanda start the day by going to a yoga class. After yoga, they go to Hinds Hall, home of the iSchool, to attend their Senior Capstone class.

Senior Capstone projects consist of deciding on an organization and then assisting them with technology and helping them improve their structure in some way. Not only is this project a culmination of all the IT and project management-related skills you’ve learned at the iSchool, it’s also a great way to get involved in the Syracuse community.

Walking to Whitman and Grabbing Coffee

Hinds Hall is conveniently located right in the center of campus on the quad. You are able to get to any class on time because of the close proximity.

After their capstone class, they head to the Martin J. Whitman School of Management. A quick walk down University Avenue and you can find yourself at the hub of coffee shops, cafes, and of course, the Management school.

Local coffee chain Cafe Kubal is right across the street, so it’s easy to make sure you are awake and caffeinated for all your classes!
