September information sessions have been scheduled for students interested in three of the Global Enterprise Technology (GET) program components.

GET is an interdisciplinary program focused on preparing students for successful careers in large-scale, technology-leveraged global operating environments.

Students in the program's components will learn how to manage and develop the technological infrastructures of today’s global markets. The program was developed through a collaboration between Syracuse University and JP Morgan Chase & Co.

Information sessions will cover both the GET Immersion Experience, EuroTech, and AsiaTech.

The GET Immersion Experience is an internship opportunity that allows students to gain first-hand experience designing, developing and supporting technology applications and projects. Interns will join a sponsoring company’s IT team where they will be exposed to different areas of technology within the organization. Because of its extended length of 8 months, participants have the opportunity to gain more real-world work experience than a typical internship.

New for 2013 is the addition of AsiaTech to the summer traveling seminars.  EuroTech  and AsiaTech are separate 3 credit traveling seminars that expose students to some of the largest global corporations so they can see first-hand how these institutions use information to address global technology challenges. Participants will get an inside view of the top global corporations across Europe or Asia while visiting historical and cultural highlights along the way. Students will also have free time to explore each city on their own. In 2012, the EuroTech trip visited seven cities across five countries.

Sessions are scheduled as follows:

  • Tuesday, September 25 – 4 PM — Hall of Languages 500
  • Thursday, September 27 – 6 PM — Hinds Hall 347
  • Friday, September 28 – Noon — Whitman 102
