Kevyn Scott ’11 G’13 of the Orange football team was named Syracuse University Scholar-Athlete of the week for the week of September 5.

Scott is currently pursuing his MS in Information Management at the School of Information Studies (iSchool) after earning his undergraduate degree in the same field. He is a three-time member of the Big East Conference’s All-Academic Team, and has appeared on the SU Athletic Director’s Honor Roll six times.

As a captain of the football team, Scott recorded the fourth interception of his career and the first for the Orange this season in the September 1 game against Wake Forest. His second season interception occurred in the game against Toledo last weekend.

A Florida native, Scott was a 2008-09 Arthur Ashe Sports Scholars First Team selection, and attended the 2009 University Presidential Inaugural Conference (UPIC) in Washington, D.C., as a member of the National Honors Society.

Scott is in his Redshirt season after playing no games in his freshman year, 2007.
