Three alumni of the Syracuse University School of Information Studies (iSchool) who work for GE as part of the company’s Information Management Leadership Program (IMLP) will visit the iSchool on Friday, April 16, for a meet-and-greet event. The IMLP representatives will meet with iSchool students in the first-floor lobby of Hinds Hall from noon to 3:00 p.m. to discuss their post-graduate experiences and answer questions about working at GE.

As part of the Invest in America Alliance, GE Chairman and CEO Jeff Immelt has committed to hire double the usual number of college graduates this year. GE is looking to meet iSchool undergraduates, graduate students, and members of the class of 2009 who are interested in working for the company and who want to start planning their careers early. GE has opportunities for those interested in information technology, engineering, finance, manufacturing, marketing and sales, and human resources.

The three iSchool alums/IMLP representatives will talk to students about how the work they are doing for GE blends with the iSchool curriculum. The representatives are:

  • Will Kievit ’09. Kievit is a second rotation IMLP for GE Capital. He currently works on IT compliance and software governance projects for the company. Kievit is currently managing a project that impacts more than 30 global GE Money Bank businesses.
  • Patrick Lauzon ’09. Lauzon is a second rotation IMLP for GE Energy who works in power and water in Schenectady, NY. During his time at the iSchool, he majored in information management and technology and completed a minor in business management. Lauzon completed two internships with GE during the summers following his sophomore and junior years.
  • Kaitlin Lambracht G’08. Lambracht is currently a first rotation IMLP at GE Corporate in Shelton, CT. For her first assignment, she is leading three IT projects related to finance. During her time at the iSchool, she worked at Information Technology & Services. She also interned at GE during the summer of 2009 in Albany, NY.

If you are unable to attend the meet-and-greet but are interested in a career at GE, please send your résumé to Kathy Benjamin at
