DeAnna Miller

Adjunct Professor

I am DeAnna Miller and I am an instructor for IST 511. I am married with four children and have worked in the education field for 22 years. I look forward to getting to know each of you and learning with you as we go through this course.

I first became interested in Library Media Science through a colleague who told me that being a librarian was the best job in a school district. She encouraged me to get my LMS certification and I am grateful to her for her encouragement. I must agree with her, the library media specialist is the best job in the school! My favorite part of working in the library was developing lesson plans and teaching students. I always did big projects around holidays and my favorite one was the Chinese New Year. You can teach any subject in library classes as long as you have the resources in your collection. My years in the library were very enjoyable and I wish the same for each of you.
