The School of Information Studies (iSchool) and Syracuse University’s Bird Library will present “The Changing Nature of Scholarship – Part 3” as part of the iSchool’s Brown Bag Lunch Series next week.
This installment of the series will feature scholarly work and measures of influence focused on publicly-engaged scholarship, new forms of scholarly activity, scholarly communities, and scholarship in action.
Faculty members participating include:
- Kevin Crowston, Professor, School of Information Studies
- Timothy Eatman, Assistant Professor of Higher Education, School of Education; and Director for Research – Imagining America
- Lee McKnight, Associate Professor, School of Information Studies; founder and Member of the board of Directors of the Wireless Grids Corporation
- Megan Oakleaf, Assistant Professor, School of Information Studies
- Harvey Teres, Director of the Judaic Studies Program and Associate Professor of English
Each participant will comment on the relationship between scholarship and community in their work and disciplines, and the influence of their work on communities. Discussion and questions about the process and methods of research scholarship and publishing are welcome and encouraged.
The event will take place on Friday, November 11 at noon in the Peter Graham Scholarly Commons in Bird Library. Pizza and drinks will be provided.
