The next installment of the Brown Bag Lunch Series at the School of Information Studies (iSchool) will feature David Ribes, assistant professor at Georgetown University.

In Ribes’ talk entitled “Flexibility relative to what? Change and the protean research infrastructure,” he will discuss how infrastructure should adapt to a changing world. Ribes will examine the Multi-Center AIDS Cohort Study (MACS) and how MACS’ participants and scientists have handled changes in AIDS and the way the disease is studied.

Ribes is an assistant professor in the Communications, Culture and Technology program at Georgetown University and studies research infrastructure and its relation to long-term changes in the practice of science.

The talk will be held on Wednesday, Feb. 6 at noon in the Katzer Room (347) in Hinds Hall. Following the talk, Ph.D. students will have an opportunity to meet with Ribes.
