Blythe Bennett is the Program Manager for Library and Information Science and LIS: School Media at the School of Information Studies.
Blythe works closely with the Associate Dean for Academic Affairs and Faculty Program Director to manage administrative activities for academic programs in the iSchool. Responsibilities include accreditation (ALA and Middle States), curriculum management, schedule management, student recruiting, and assisting with LIS alumni connections.
She coordinates services for campus and online students pursuing their LIS and school media certification, and assists the LIS Program Director in implementing program assessment and improvement.
Blythe managed several K12 digital reference projects and services for organizations at the Information Institute of Syracuse, including AASL (American Association of School Librarians), the U.S. Department of Education, and the National Science Foundation prior to her role with the School Media and LIS programs.
She received her M.L.S. in school media from Syracuse University in 1994, her teaching certification in 1984, and her B.S. degrees in Spanish and in Sociology from Marietta College in 1982.
