A cohort of students that has been characterized by big, bold, and brightly-shining standards and achievements from the start completed their latest educational career phase Saturday by graduating from the School of Information Studies.

With nearly 450 students receiving degrees and certificates, the group comprised one of the largest classes in recent years. Class members received baccalaureate, master’s, and doctoral degrees, as well as graduate certificates of advanced studies in a diverse range of career paths.

The Class of 2014 consisted of:

  • 195 students receiving bachelor of science degrees in Information Management and Technology
  • One receiving a bachelor of science in Systems and Information Science
  • 59 earning master of science degrees in Library and Information Science
  • 13 obtaining master’s degrees in Library and Information Science specializing in School Media;
  • 134 students earning master of science in Information Management credentials
  • Six students earned M.S. degrees in Information Management via the Executive Education Program
  • 25 more earned master’s degrees in Telecommunications and Network Management.

Certificate Graduates

In addition, graduate certificates were presented as follows:

  • Four students were awarded certificates of advanced study in Cultural Heritage Preservation 
  • 44 earned certificates of advanced study in Data Science
  • Five students earned certificates in Digital Libraries
  • Three others received C.A.S. certifications in Information Innovation: Social Media
  • 36 more students were credentialed with certificates in Information Security Management
  • Seven earned the C.A.S. in Information Systems and Telecommunications Management 
  • One received a certificate of advanced study in School Media.

Doctoral Degrees

A large group of doctoral students completed their programs, too. Doctor of Philosophy degrees in Information Science and Technology were awarded to three students, while Doctorate of Professional Studies degrees in Information Management were presented to five others.
