Ben Nichols is a data scientist working for a NYC based analytics startup which focusses on addressing operational issues affecting brick-&-mortar retail. He has been working in analytics for the better part of eight years, split evenly among start-up technology companies and the finance industry. He received his interdisciplinary Master’s degree in Information Systems/ Statistics/ Operations Research from CUNY Baruch College in Manhattan and his undergraduate degree in Mathematics and Philosophy from SUNY Geneseo. He has experience working as a business analyst, data scientist, product manager, and most recently as a technical manager – all in support of leveraging data to improve user experiences and operational efficiency. When he’s not working with data, Ben enjoys listening to podcasts (about data), reading (about data), and hanging out with his wife Liz and his dog Watson.
