The School of Information Studies (iSchool) is hosting a lunch and bake sale to benefit United Way today in the lobby of Hinds Hall.

Organized by iSchool Assistant Academic Counselor Tess Schaufler, the sale, the second of the semester, has gained a good following over the past several years.

“We’ve built a reputation for our great comfort food, both savory and sweet. Students seek out their favorites from last year and we have people from other departments who make a point of coming to our sale,” Schaufler said.

The first bake sale, held on October 10, also included a popular “Pie the Professor” event, where faculty members lined up and allowed themselves to be hit in the face with a pie tin filled with shaving cream. The bake sale and pie attraction raised $765 – the largest one-day take since the school has been holding the bake sales.

In addition to baked goods and lunch options today, Professor Scott Nicolson will also be making his face-painting services available, for a donation.
