Kumud Srinivasan G’84, a member of the School of Information Studies (iSchool) Board of Advisors has been appointed Chairperson of the Board of Governors of the National Institute of Technology (NITT) in Tiruchirappalli, India.

Srinivasan graduated with a master's degree from the iSchool in 1984, and has been a member of the School’s Board of Advisors since 2010.

She is the first woman appointed to the post in the institute’s history.

Currently, Srinivasan serves as president of Intel India, where she oversees engineering and innovation for market development, and manages the company’s relationships with government, industry and academia. 

Intel’s Indian operation has 3,500 employees, and is the largest non-manufacturing component of the company outside of the United States.

In addition to her service on the iSchool and NITT boards, Srinivasan is also a member of the governing body of the International Institute of Information Technology in Bangalore, India.
