Lizhen Liang is a Ph.D. candidate at the iSchool. His research focuses on the Science of Science, where he uses computational methods including machine learning, natural language processing, and network science to analyze the impact, innovation, collaboration, and questionable practices in scientific research. Currently, Lizhen is investigating how industry research teams in Artificial Intelligence impact academia and how research contributions between industry and academia can be compared. Through computational methods, Lizhen also examines questionable research behaviors such as self-citation, predatory publishing, and social biases in AI models. He holds a Master’s degree in Information Management from Syracuse University and a Bachelor’s degree in Information and Computing Science from South China Agricultural University.
