The Center for Convergence and Emerging Networking Technologies (CCENT) at the School of Information Studies (iSchool) recently received a $10,000 donation from Govsphere Inc., a rapidly growing government consulting firm based in Syracuse .
The contribution will allow iSchool graduate students to work on next-generation information technology research and development initiatives in collaboration with Govsphere personnel at its corporate headquarters facility in downtown Syracuse.
The special projects supported by the Govsphere donation will include:
- Developing private cloud infrastructures that yield the benefits of cloud computing while maintaining control over corporate information
- Utilizing real-time collaboration and network monitoring platforms to protect corporate networks from cyber-attacks
- Building next-generation green IT infrastructures using recycled IT equipment and components.
