The Post Standard and its online counterpart Syracuse.com featured a photography spread on Syracuse University Entrepreneur-in-Residence John Liddy and a number of student entrepreneurs at the Syracuse Student Sandbox.

Liddy oversees the Student Sandbox and provides mentorship to a number of college students, including Syracuse University School of Information Studies (iSchool) students Andrew Farah G’11 and Colby Morgan G’12, depicted in the spread. The students Liddy works with at the Tech Garden are people like him, intelligent and motivated individuals looking for a way to make their idea become a reality.

After working in research and development at the start-up TextWise, he moved to a career corporate management for more than seven years, as a distribution manager at Suburban Propane and then as general manager of the company. The experience he gained there made him recognize how much he missed the work of an entrepreneur. In summer 2009, Liddy came to the Tech Garden to coach the students in the Syracuse Student Sandbox.

Since then, Liddy has overseen a number of student entrepreneurs, including the founders of Brand-Yourself, Grafighters, SafeSip and others. He holds a B.A. in political science from the University of Vermont and an M.B.A. from the Whitman School of Management at Syracuse University.
