The Journal of Education for Library and Information Science (JELIS) has selected Syracuse University School of Information Studies (iSchool) doctoral candidate Delicia Greene for a two-year editorial board intern position running from 2011-2013.

Greene’s duties will include writing a journalistic profile for each issue to be published on the JELIS web site, helping to coordinate and staff annual meetings of the editorial board, and soliciting manuscripts, and promoting the journal. She will also post content and moderate the JELIS blog. During monthly editorial meetings, she will be on the team who helps decide on content scope, issue themes, and publishing criteria and guidelines for content. She will also assist with data collection for the journal’s annual satisfaction survey.

Greene, a second-year doctoral student from the Bronx, New York, holds master’s degrees in both Library Science and Secondary English Education, and an Advanced Certificate in Administration and Supervision. Prior to her arrival at the iSchool, she worked several years for the Department of Education as a middle school librarian in the South Bronx and for several years as a young adult librarian for the New York Public Library.

JELIS is a fully refereed scholarly periodical published quarterly by the Association for Library and Information Science.
