The School of Information Studies (iSchool) welcomed nearly 30 employers to campus today at the annual iCareer Day for graduate and undergraduate students.

Organized by the iSchool's Career Services office, the event caused lines to snake throughout the corridors of Hinds Hall as students waited their turn to speak with recruiters looking to fill both internship positions as well as full-time jobs.

Assistant Dean of Student and Faculty Services, Sarah Hagelin, described the event as, “a great opportunity for our students to learn about careers and positions available to them in the information profession.”

In addition, Hagelin stressed the importance of the event for all student audiences, not just active job seekers.

“Whether or not a student is actively searching for a position right now, I think that there is tremendous value in having them attend the event, meet employers, and sharpen their interviewing skills.”

Today’s iCareer Day is the kickoff to a whole week of career-related activity at Syracuse University. The main University Career Fair will be held in the Carrier Dome on October 1, and the Graduate and Professional School Day event for graduate students will take place on October 2 in the Schine Student Center.
