It Girls: Empowering Women in Technology

Empowering women in technology.

It Girls: Empowering Women in Technology is an interactive and fun two-week noncredit course for students of rising high school sophomore, junior, or senior status – or a 2023 high school graduate. The course features a variety of speakers and topics, covering a range of subjects such as web development, cryptology, the impact of self-tracking devices on society, teachable machines in artificial intelligence, retail data analysis for revenue enhancement, advanced internet searching techniques (Google Fu), media source bias and persuasion, robotics for automating repetitive tasks, women in video games, cybersecurity, data-driven storytelling, and the application of math in fashion.

Gain empowerment and insights on utilizing technology to address real-world challenges, while developing skills as a problem-solver, critical thinker, and leader through this distinctive opportunity.

All students who successfully complete the course will receive a Certificate of Completion and have the opportunity to request a Syracuse University noncredit transcript.

This 2-week session will be held in mid-July 2024, exact dates TBD.

Since I’m the only girl in my high school computer science class, it was great just meeting other girls who are interested in the field. It makes me feel less alone in STEM.
