The AI degree program is 31 credits and can be completed in as little as one year.

  • Primary Core – 21 credits
  • Secondary Core – 9 credits from one track
    • Choose between data science, cloud computing, or a self guided option
  •  Exit Requirement – 1 credit
    • Complete a required one-credit course in which you submit a personal portfolio of projects that demonstrate full competency of the learning outcomes to a panel of program faculty.

Successful students in our Applied Human-Centered AI program will be able to:

  • Develop robust AI applications by harnessing deep learning libraries and APIs
  • Describe potential ethical considerations that might arise when developing AI applications
  • Articulate the complexities of human-AI interaction to improve human-AI collaboration
  • Reflect upon and critically assess existing and potential AI applications.

As a STEM-designated program, the MS in Applied Human-Centered Artificial Intelligence enables international students on F-1 visas to apply for up to 12 months of Optional Practical Training (OPT) upon graduation. Furthermore, the program is recognized by the Department of Homeland Security (DHS) as eligible for the F-1 STEM OPT extension. Students who find qualifying employment may be eligible for an additional extension, resulting in up to 36 months of F-1 OPT work authorization.
