Richard Katz is the founder and owner of Richard N. Katz & Associates, an international consulting firm. He consults on higher education strategy, technology, and assessment issues with governments, corporations, and universities worldwide. He served as senior advisor for information strategy to the deputy president of the National University of Singapore and as executive vice president of Nuventive Corporation. Mr. Katz is the former vice president of EDUCAUSE and founding director of the EDUCAUSE Center for Applied Research (ECAR). Prior to joining EDUCAUSE, he held a variety of senior positions spanning 14 years at the University of California (UC). While at UC, he was awarded several honors, including the University Award for Innovative Management and Leadership.
Mr. Katz is the author or editor of seven books and more than 75 articles, book chapters, monographs, and research studies. He earned a BA from the University of Pittsburgh and an MBA from UCLA. Mr. Katz has been a member of the iSchool Board since November 2005.
