Mariel Rosario is a second-year graduate student pursuing her Master’s degree in Information Management at the iSchool. As Program Manager for iConsult and for the Digital Transformation Collaborative, she is responsible for bringing stakeholders and students together to create a mutually beneficial relationship to promote IT consultation, community engagement and experiential learning.
Mariel is also an Academic Consultant for the Dimensions mentoring program, where she mentors first-year undergraduate women of color on academic achievement, civic engagement, and professional development. Her work in the program is proof of her strong advocacy for mentorship as a tool to elevate others. In addition, Mariel is the graduate representative for BLISTS (Black and Latino Information Studies Support), the secretary of WiTec (Worldwide innovation Technology), a member of SWEEP (Society of Women’s Empowerment and Engagement Partner) and a member of the Graduate chapter of WIT (Women in Technology).
Mariel earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Psychology and Children & Family Studies from Syracuse University. After completing her bachelor’s, she worked with various local non-profit organizations, providing tutoring and counseling services to clients. During her time in New York City, she held several roles within Higher Education that targeted student success and advocacy.
