Jeffery Rubin

Jeffrey Rubin is the founder and CEO of SIDEARM Sports. He is also an Associate Professor of Practice at Syracuse University's iSchool.  He is passionate about sports, technology, and equally passionate about educating our future leaders.

The SIDEARM staff is comprised of nearly sixty designers, developers, project managers, and customer support members, many of whom worked in college athletics before coming to SIDEARM.   Our collective experience working with athletics is what drives us to innovate and improve the processes that currently exist, by using the latest advancements in web-based technology.

SIDEARM Sports works with over 800 college athletic programs across the United States and Canada, including: Syracuse, Texas, Kansas, Texas A&M, Illinois, Indiana, and many more.   In general terms SIDEARM Sports develops websites, however, R&D efforts focus on Statistics, Social Media, Video Delivery, and Mobile consumption.

In July 2014, Learfield Sports acquired SIDEARM Sports.  Learfielld Sports is the Mulitmedia Rights Holder (MMRA) for over 100 of the top collegiate athletic programs in the U.S.  Since the acquisition, Rubin remains CEO of SIDEARM Sports and all employees remain in Syracuse.

Most offices are filled with employees that excitedly talk about the big play in the game from the night before, and SIDEARM Sports is no different.  While we discuss the game, we also write the software that distributes that same news across the Internet, calculates the statistics for the game, and archives the video clips so that fans that missed it can watch it later.  SIDEARM Sports is the company that makes it possible for collegiate sports fans to follow their favorite teams no matter if they’re across town, across the country, or across the world. If you ask us, we have the best job in the world.

Jeffrey Rubin sits on the external affairs committee for Syracuse University Athletics, is active with the Jim & Juli Boeheim foundation, and has served on boards within CNY.

He has been married to his wife Jennifer for 10 years, has two sons (nine & seven), and resides in Manlius NY.
