Overview

Michael Clarke, serves as the director of digital strategy at Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies (iSchool).  He is responsible for crafting and leading an overall digital strategy for the college including web design and management, content marketing, search engine optimization, pay-per-click advertising and additional digital marketing strategies.  Michael leads a small team of web professionals including the college’s web specialist and digital content manager.

Michael is also an adjunct professor for the School of Information Studies where he currently teaches IST 300: Digital Strategy and Analytics.  He has previously taught IST GET 234: Effective Collaboration in a Globally Distributed Enterprise, IST 300: Digital Marketing and IST 263: Web Design and Management.  Michael is the 2013 Part-Time Professor of the Year Award winner.  He also serves as a faculty liaison for Syracuse University’s Project Advance and is the CEO and co-Founder of AppHammer, a web and mobile application development company. 

Prior to working at the iSchool Michael worked for United Way of Central New York as senior technology manager, and Edit Point Video as the director of dynamic media.  Michael received a B.F.A. in Computer Graphics from the College of Visual and Performing Arts at Syracuse University and an M.S. in Information Management from the School of Information Studies at Syracuse University.
