Jennifer Erin Nutefall
Jennifer Nutefall has been University Librarian at Santa Clara University since July 2012. In her time at Santa Clara she led the creation of the Library’s first strategic plan, the redesign of the Library’s first floor, a library-wide reorganization, and a focus on assessment and data driven decisions. In 2017 SCU Library was selected as the winner of the ACRL Excellence in Academic Libraries Award in the University Library category. She also founded the Colloquium on Libraries and Service Learning which brings together librarians, faculty, service learning directors and community partners to engage in the sharing of research, ideas, perspectives, and best practices with/in academic service learning.
Prior to joining Santa Clara she was Associate University Librarian for Innovative User Services at Oregon State University Libraries (2009-2012) and played a key role in their library-wide reorganization and the implementation of a new learning commons. From 2002-2009 she was Instruction Coordinator at the Gelman Library, George Washington University. During her time at GWU, Jennifer assisted with the campus-wide implementation of a new first-year writing program that integrated librarians into the curriculum. Prior to GWU she worked as a Reference/Instruction Librarian at the State University of New York (SUNY), College at Brockport from 1998-2002 where she spent two years coordinating the development of a course co-taught by the Communication Department and the Library.
She holds a BS in Journalism and an MLS from Syracuse University and an MA in Education and Human Development from George Washington University.
