Check out a day in the life of Louisa below!
My first class session of the day was a success! PAF 410.3 is a class for new smart money coaches at @syracuseu. Each year a group of students apply and are selected for the Peer Coach Development Program. Not only do we get to coach our peers about their finances but we are taught by an experienced professional, Professor Lavet. #whitmantakeover #whitmanlife
Louisa is a part of two amazing organizations that have a home in the iSchool! WIT (Women in Technology) and BLISTS (Black and Latinx Information Science and Technology Support) both focus on diversity in the work place.
Look out for their upcoming events throughout the semester! To find out more about iSchool student orgs check out the iSchool website.
Now, let’s see some of the activates I do around campus! I’m a member of Women in Technology, which allows space for girls in the @ischoolsu to blossom into the profession and polished women in their field! Shiela, our advisor, is always available. Another club I’m involved in is Black and Latino Information Science and Technology Support. Our Advisor Katie is awesome at providing us opportunities and being an extra resource on campus which makes it all possible. As the new public relations chair, I’m excited to connect both old and new members together moving forward. I’m also excited to explore all the organizations at the Whitman School, such as @enactussyracuse and @dspcuse! #whitmantakeover #whitmanlife
Orange After Dark is a spectacular organization here at Syracuse University. They plan an array of events such as grocery bingo, Dave and Busters students night, late night movies every weekend, and Target night! To find out more upcoming events, check out the OAD calendar.
One of my favorite student organizations on campus is ORANGE AFTER DARK. As an E-board member this semester, I have the privilege of being a part of a team that gets to plan, create and execute events that impact the rest of our @syracuseu community – both on and off campus. Visit @cuseactivities to find out more about our upcoming events! #whitmantakeover
Louisa is an entrepreneur that utilizes resources such as the Bird Library Blackstone Launch Pad. Any student on campus is able to pitch ideas receive resources to assist with future endeavors.
I think of myself as a student #entrepreneur. Many students, like myself, attend @syracuseu while also planning and starting their own businesses. The Couri Hatchery and Blackstone LaunchPad at Syracuse are great resources for any students who have ideas they want to see come to life. #whitmantakeover #whitmanlife
Louisa’s takeover was an overall success! She showed all the wonderful opportunities Whitman has to offer along with her dual major of the iSchool. We’re so happy to have someone like Louisa be such a great representation of both schools! Find out more about being a dual Whitman and iSchool student here.
It’s Louisa! Although I couldn’t possibly show you all the incredible opportunities and activities available on campus and at the Whitman School, I hope you all loved what I showed you today. I look forward to seeing you all again around school and throughout the semester. #whitmantakeover #whitmanlife IG: @africanprincesaa
