Instagram Takeover with Lousia Williams: Whitman and iSchool Dual

Louisa is a dual major with the School of Information Studies and the Martin J. Whitman School of Management and recently took over the Whitman’s Instagram stories.

Check out a day in the life of Louisa below!

Louisa is involved in a Peer Coach Development Program. Think iSchool peer advisors, but specific to financial literacy. Find out more about Syracuse Smart Money and iSchool Peer Advisors!

Louisa is a part of two amazing organizations that have a home in the iSchool! WIT (Women in Technology) and BLISTS (Black and Latinx Information Science and Technology Support) both focus on diversity in the work place.

Look out for their upcoming events throughout the semester! To find out more about iSchool student orgs check out the iSchool website.

Now, let’s see some of the activates I do around campus! I’m a member of Women in Technology, which allows space for girls in the @ischoolsu to blossom into the profession and polished women in their field! Shiela, our advisor, is always available. Another club I’m involved in is Black and Latino Information Science and Technology Support. Our Advisor Katie is awesome at providing us opportunities and being an extra resource on campus which makes it all possible. As the new public relations chair, I’m excited to connect both old and new members together moving forward. I’m also excited to explore all the organizations at the Whitman School, such as @enactussyracuse and @dspcuse! #whitmantakeover #whitmanlife

Orange After Dark is a spectacular organization here at Syracuse University. They plan an array of events such as grocery bingo, Dave and Busters students night, late night movies every weekend, and Target night! To find out more upcoming events, check out the OAD calendar.

Louisa is an entrepreneur that utilizes resources such as the Bird Library Blackstone Launch Pad. Any student on campus is able to pitch ideas receive resources to assist with future endeavors.

Louisa’s takeover was an overall success! She showed all the wonderful opportunities Whitman has to offer along with her dual major of the iSchool. We’re so happy to have someone like Louisa be such a great representation of both schools! Find out more about being a dual Whitman and iSchool student here.
