Erica graduated from West Point with a B.S. in American Legal Systems, with an Environmental Engineering track.  She earned an M.S. in Information Management and Certificate of Advanced Studies in Information Security Management from Syracuse University.  She holds the CompTIA Security+ and (ISC)2 Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) certifications.  She has worked in the information assurance/cybersecurity field for the Department of Defense and will return upon completion of her Ph.D.

Erica’s professional interests are long-term strategic cyber planning, defining cyber ethics, and determining how to improve laws relating to cyberspace.

Erica’s research interests are achieving a more effective and efficient method of cybersecurity in the Department of Defense.  Her coursework and current research focuses on law, policy, and organizational theory in relation to cybersecurity.

She is interested in teaching cybersecurity courses for non-practitioners, hoping to provide clear explanations of the value of information security and influence future leaders to take cybersecurity seriously.
Her personal interests include reading, home improvement projects, and scuba diving.
