Dan has served in myriad management roles of progressively increasing responsibility since 2001.
Dan is an IT project manager within Syracuse University’s Information Technology Services (ITS). He joined the University community in 2011 leading various initiatives within the University’s portfolio of programs serving veterans until 2016 when he transitioned to ITS. During this time, he ultimately served as the Director of Distance Education Programs within the Institute for Veterans and Military Families (IVMF). In this role, Dan was responsible for leading the Veterans Career Transition Program (VCTP) and Boots to Business teams (11 staff members), ensuring these programs met their goals, and providing advice and coaching to the program managers as they led their respective teams and projects. In this role, Dan also co-led the launch of Onward to Opportunity, a new IVMF initiative. In addition to these duties, Dan led projects within the programs including three Learning Management System procurements and data migration to Salesforce. Since 2011, Dan has chaired or served on over 20 hiring search committees at Syracuse University.
Prior to joining Syracuse University, Dan worked in operations management within the supply chain for Kohl’s Department Stores where he led a team of over 200 Associates and engaged in general management responsibilities as well as accounts payable claims, inventory control, workplace safety, and hiring activities.
A long time ago, in a galaxy far, far away, upon graduation from the Rochester Institute of Technology, Dan entered the US Army as an officer serving two tours in Iraq; first as a platoon leader and then as a foreign military advisor.
Dan is a certified Project Management Professional (PMP) through the Project Management Institute and has a Certificate of Advanced Study in Information Systems and Telecommunications Management from Syracuse University’s School of Information Studies. Dan serves on the Veterans’ Advisory Council at Clearpath for Veterans in Chittenango, New York.
Dan lives in Camillus with his wife, two children and three cats.
