Candice Benjes-Small received her BA in history from Haverford College and her MLIS from University of Texas-Austin. Since 2001, she has been a librarian at Radford University in southwestern Virginia, and is currently the Head of Information Literacy and Outreach. In 2014, her library’s instruction program was recognized as “Exemplary” in numerous categories by ACRL Information Literacy Best Practices Project. She has received the Virginia Libraries Association’s Academic Library Innovator Award and Presidential Citation, and has served as the Virginia Chapter of ACRL’s president multiple times. She has published and presented extensively on information literacy topics, most recently co-authoring The New Instruction Librarian: A Workbook for Trainers and Learners, published in 2016 by ALA.
