Women in Information Technology to host a Ph.D. student panel

The Syracuse University School of Information Studies Women in Information Technology student group will host a Ph.D. panel. The panel discussion will be held on Wednesday, Nov. 4, at 5 p.m. in the Katzer Room, 347 Hinds Hall. The panelists will discuss their current research and work experiences. They will also talk about the new technologies and trends that are emerging in the information field.

The panel will feature the following Ph.D. students:
   • Delicia Greene, a school library media specialist
   • David James, a fellow at the Center for research on Collaboratories & Technology Enhanced Learning Communities
   • Angela Usha Ramnarie-Rieks, a researcher who focuses on computer supported collaborative learning
   • Jamie Snyder, a researcher who focuses on multimodal communication and creation of visual information

The event is being coordinated by the iSchool’s Woman in Information Technology (WIT). WIT is a student-led organization dedicated to increasing the participation of women in information technology, and to closing the gender gap in the field. The event is free and open to all students, faculty, and staff. Food will be provided.
