The School of Information Studies (iSchool) is supporting the third annual TEDx Syracuse University event that empowers individuals to spread ideas that impact the community. TEDx SyracuseUniversity, planned for Spring 2016, will bring together thought leaders from Syracuse’s technology, entertainment, and design backgrounds to host short lectures on local issues and popular trends.
Student organizers of the TEDx Syracuse University conference have announced their call for speaker applications. Applications can be found on the organization’s website at: tedx.syr.edu.
The application deadline is January 8 at 5:00 PM. Conference organizers encourage anyone with an idea they wish to share with the Syracuse and TEDx communities to apply for a speaking slot.
TEDx stems from the original TED events that promote the mantra “ideas worth spreading” – where international leaders in their fields gather to speak and find inspiration from one another. The “x” denotes a local conference that seeks to educate and engage communities around the world.
