Ph.D. Students, Faculty Member to Participate at ASIS&T Annual Meeting

Barbara, Matthew, and FatimaSeveral members of the School of Information Studies (iSchool) community will be attending and participating at the Association for Information Science and Technology (ASIS&T) Annual Meeting in St. Louis, Missouri running Nov. 6-10.

Highlights include:

  • Saturday, November 7
    Professor Barbara Kwasnik has co-organized the half-day workshop: Conceptual Crowbars and Classification at the Crossroads: The Impact and Future of Classification Research.

  • Sunday, November 8
    The Syracuse iSchool invites alumni and guests to join faculty and friends for a reception from 5:30 - 7:00 PM at the Red Kitchen and Bar at the Hyatt.

  • Monday, November 9
    Professor Barbara Kwasnik will participate on a panel discussion: Standing Out in the Academic LIS Job Market: An Interactive Panel for Doctoral Students

  • Tuesday, November 10
    Ph.D. student Matthew Willis will present his paper during the Award-Winning Paper Presentations session. Willis received the Thomson Reuters Doctoral Dissertation Proposal Scholarship for: “Patient Sociotechnical Assemblages: The Distributed Cognition of Health Information Management.”

    Ph.D. student Fatima Espinoza-Vasquez will participate on a panel discussion: Emerging Trends in the Use and Adoption of E-participation Around the World.
